A new Visual Studio for Mac version (7.0.1) was released today to the Stable channel. Every time I open a new.axml file, the entire IDE UI locks up for 10-20 seconds.

Every time I open a new.axml file, the entire IDE UI locks up for 10-20 seconds. There is no progress message shown in the top center. This really slows down development to have it lock up every time I'm trying to work on a new layout file. Here's a few observations I've personally made: 1. Android Designer Initialization takes some time. When opening a solution from a fresh boot up of Visual Studio for Mac / Visual Studio, the Android Designer I assume initializes and this process can take 3-5 seconds depending on the complexity of the layout you are loading. Android Designer Exceptions There seems to be various exceptions of retrieving a certain API level's package.xml, failure to lookup MD5 classes, and much more that probably takes some time. Either way, Justin can you please confirm that you can reproduce this behavior? I have been attempting to reproduce a longer hang than 3-5 seconds on Visual Studio for Mac 7.1, but haven't come across a scenario quite yet.
Justin Toth 2017-07-18 16:30:03 UTC 1. It actually happens every time an axml file is opened, regardless of whether it's the first file or the 100th to be opened. And it literally takes up to 20 seconds often, I've even seen it take 30+ seconds. I noticed some errors in the logs as well. Some are related to the project resources, but the errors aren't legitimate (top xml root node is invalid when it's really not, resource file doesn't exist when it does, etc.). Other errors aren't related to our project and seem to be internal to the IDE.
I tried installing the latest beta build and it works, so you or someone else must have fixed the issue.
